Be Better – Love Better – Live Better with cancer & beyond

Hello everyone and welcome to Prue’s Place Daily.

How exciting is this.

I’m awake earlier than usual as promised to welcome you all to our very first Prue’s Place Daily. As I sip my tea with a touch of local honey (good for seasonal allergies) enjoying the cool breeze coming through the window, I can’t help feeling blessed to live in this amazing part of the world. It’s officially Fall (Autumn) here in New England and the leaves are slowly starting to change. A few red maple leaves are shining brightly among the green leaves. It’s a magnificent site.

We still have temperatures in the high 50’s (14c) to low 70’s (21c) which I find just perfect. This is my favorite time of the year. A great day to start our new inspired lives together.

Prue’s Place Daily starts right now.

Here we go on a new venture together.

Prue’s nugget of wisdom:

The majority of us at Prue’s Place have heard those three scary words, “You have cancer,” or you have this or that disease. It is a devastating time in our lives.

I was in my 20’s when the Oncologist told me I had stage 4 cancer and I remember exactly how I felt the first time I heard those words “you have cancer” and when the secondaries showed up, all hell broke lose. In that moment, it was as if my blood had turned to ice; I was freezing and shaking all over and my body felt numb. I couldn’t hear a word my doctor was saying; all I could see was his mouth moving.

We can never be prepared for devastating news like a cancer diagnosis so I have put together a quick a guideline: The “3 things to do when you’ve been diagnosed with cancer” to help you and your loved ones through this tumultuous time.

Please share this video with your loved ones and friends who have been newly diagnosed. This video will help to bring calm to the storm and help you face this emotionally challenging time with some logic and common sense.

“Think great thoughts today lovely you. Catch the negative ones and gently send them on their way – bye bye.”

Love you. See you tomorrow.

Mother told me I wasn’t good enough.

Mother told me I wasn’t good enough so I never felt good enough.

When was the last time you sat still and recognized your accomplishments? I’m not talking about physical things like the amount of money you make or the big house you live in with the fancy car in the driveway. I’m talking about the expansion of your soul and the life lessons you’ve learned. If the evolution of our soul is a fact of life, we will want to keep evolving and becoming more aware so we can live a more harmonious and rewarding life.

Cancer Truths: “We’ve got it all.” Have you or a loved one been told by a doctor, “we’ve got it all?” Before you start reading any further, I need to warn you my lovely peeps that today I’m going on a rant because I’m sad and I’m pissed off with the lies my peeps are hearing from their doctors. I am about to tell you some home truths about cancer and share a beautiful story of a twin sister’s unconditional love. I hope this story will encourage you to dig…

Men Have Body Issues, Too!

I wrote last week about how women are plagued on a daily basis with body image issues. And the fact is, women have been judged extremely harshly for decades about their appearance whereas, until very recently, men weren’t nearly as scrutinized. But all of that is now changing.

Are You Reading Those PLU Codes?

Are You Reading Those PLU Codes?

You’ve probably mumbled a few choice words under your breath when you’ve attempted to peel those little PLU code stickers off of your apple or other items of produce, but have you ever really looked at that sticker and do you know all of the reasons why it’s there? From a super market’s standpoint, those codes, which are typically 4 or 5 digits long, are there to make inventory and check-out faster and more accurate. They basically help the cashier know exactly what you’re purchasing without having to look up your item and type a code (possibly the wrong one) into the cash register.
