Stop Judging. Stop Being Critical.

By | Inform | No Comments

Do you judge your friends? When was the last time you had a critical thought?

It doesn’t matter how young or old we are, what we do for a living or where we come from in the world, the color of our skin; our political views or religious beliefs and the language we speak – we all understand the language of love.

We all want to feel love, and when we learn to love ourselves, we can fulfill all our dreams and desires. Nothing holds us back because we trust and love ourselves unconditionally.

Some of you know, I do Hip-Hop/Zumba classes three times a week. On Saturday we have a male instructor called Mario who is from Italy. His class is full to the brim with people from all over the world. Mario sings the words of the songs to us…”You’ve got to love that body, look at that body, love that body.” He dances around the room giving us the love sign with his hands and singing, “I love you, I love you, I love you, over and over again. The energy in the room is electric – people are uplifted, smiling and laughing, some are embarrassed and blushing. It’s all good. He uplifts our spirits, and people feel loved for an hour. I think I know why his class is jammed packed every Saturday!

 The power of love

Whether you are healing from an illness or emotional wounds from the past; want to find that perfect relationship or release your negative thoughts around friends and people who have hurt or abused you, you’ve got to start with YOU first. Learn how to love yourself. I know your life will get better and better the deeper you fall in love with you.

How do we learn to fall in love with ourselves?

There are 12 steps that taught me how to love myself and they changed my life forever. I will share these 12 steps with you in tomorrow’s post. Take your time implementing these steps into your life. This is not a sprint – it’s a marathon. It took me many years to get it!!

When we start to love ourselves more each day, magic appears in our lives. We feel better. We act better. We are treated better! Our relationships improve. We attract more love and healing into our lives, and we can dissolve negative energy immediately.

Here are 12 steps to take to love yourself:

1. Stop criticizing and judging

Refuse to judge or criticize yourself and others; when you catch yourself being critical change your thinking to loving thoughts. Find an affirmation you love and say it as soon as you hear the criticism in your head. Try this one…” I love and approve of myself and everything I do.”

2. Forgive yourself

Release the past right now and stop judging yourself. Make sure you understand deep down inside that you did your best at the time with the awareness you had. Forgive yourself. You are changing now, and your life will be different. Download my free meditation here and start forgiving yourself and other people who have hurt you this weekend.

3. Stop the scary dark thoughts

Your critical negative thoughts create your future so stop scaring yourself with your thoughts. Think of a beautiful scene in nature or something that brings you peace and changes your thinking.

4. Be kind to yourself

Be patient and accept that this process will take some time and that there is no rush. Say beautiful things about yourself just like you would say to someone you love dearly. Be kind and loving to yourself.

5. Stop the self-hatred

Don’t beat yourself up when the bad thoughts arrive. Be kind to your mind and gently clear the thoughts away. The more you do this the better. Beating yourself up is the worst thing ever. Stop it and switch gears to loving yourself.

6. Reward Yourself

Buy yourself something that makes you feel worthy and loved. It doesn’t have to be an expensive item – treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate (sugar free!) Make a date with yourself and do something you love to do. Take in a show. Go to the ballet or watch back to back fun movies. Go to an energy healer or Reiki session. Take up a new hobby. Make this a ritual that you do often, just because.

7. Recognize every milestone

Tell yourself how well you are doing at every chance you get. Become your best friend or your own life coach. Praise yourself at every milestone. Send yourself a beautiful text with kind words of praise or just type “I love you”! It may feel weird but it’s super cool! Try it!

8. Ask for support

Find ways to reach out to loving friends who know you well and want to help you. When we ask for help, it shows strength, never weakness.

9. Check in with your negative thoughts

Acknowledge your critical and negative thoughts and understand that you have created them and now you have no need for them. Lovingly let them go. See your negative thoughts drifting away or going up-up and away in a big hot air balloon. Bye Bye critical thoughts!

10. Take care of YOU because you are special

Learn how to eat right for your body. Get educated on how to meditate and become mindful. Choose an exercise routine that you love otherwise you won’t keep it up. Cherish your beautiful body. It’s the only one you have so don’t feed it garbage. Download my Personalized Nutrition Guide

11. Say to yourself – I love you – I love you – I love you

Say it multiple times a day. Begin right now. “I love you _____.” Say it to yourself as you drive to work, sit on the train or while having your morning tea or coffee. Make it a mantra. I say it to myself the moment I wake up. “I love you, Prue.”

12. Find joy and happiness in your life

Express love and happiness everywhere you go. Find fun things to do that make you laugh and bring you joy. Get to know the real you. When you do, I know you will fall madly in love with you.

Remember this is not a sprint it is a marathon so take all the time you need to start changing your life. Chunk it down and work out a strategy of what you will do first. Make it fun. There will be times when you will be laughing out loud at some of the things you are doing. It’s your little secret and it’s all OK.

Sit back and watch the changes unfold – the magical moments are on their way.

Was It Grief, Anger OR Rage?

By | Ignite | No Comments

Grief? Anger? Rage?

We have a major storm bringing heavy snow and hurricane-like winds and blizzard conditions to Boston right now. New Englanders call these storms Nor’easters. The weather report tells us to expect between 12 – 16 inches of snow! All the schools and most businesses are closed today. How appreciative am I to be warm and toasty inside drinking my cup of tea and watching the birds who are covered in snow as they eat one seed at a time from the bird feeder.

Life! We must roll with the punches from sunny tropical days to blizzard snowy conditions. Life is all about staying neutral and going with the flow. “No Flow – No Go.”

Do you judge yourself?

I have spent most of my life judging myself and my experiences. As I have become more mindful of my emotions, I have spent time and energy judging those, too. I have spent a ton of energy judging and labeling the experience or emotion more than I did living through it.

I have run away from grief and ridiculed myself repeatedly for experiencing anger and rage. I have put labels on my fear and guilt and buried these emotions deep down inside. This is what causes disease, (dis-ease) my friends.

What I have discovered is the power of staying neutral. I now become mindful of the situation, and I look at it as a life lesson I must learn.

I am free to have the experience (good or bad) and accept the life lesson as part of my spiritual growth. Staying neutral brings me peace and empowers me to learn the life lesson far quicker so I can check mark that situation off my list and move on with grace.

Let yourself have and feel the experiences of your life because you have created them. We choose our life experiences. Let the energy of the experience pass through you without judgment. Learn to let others have their emotions and life lessons, too.

Prue’s quote of the day: “Discover the power of neutral and become mindful of the experience. It is a sacred time that will help you grow and heal.”

At Prue’s Place we are healing our lives one day at a time.

Controlling Our Minds – What Is Your Power Statement?

By | Ignite | No Comments

Hello lovely you,

How do we control our minds so we can live a better life? What is your power statement?

The days and weeks of December are flying by. Did you know that we are in the highest realm of energy at this time of the year? This is the time when the spiritual world is reaching down with all their blessings to help us with our projects and to heal our lives? Take time to enjoy this time with prayer, meditation, and spend quality time with yourself. Make this season special and move into this beautiful spiritual realm of energy and enjoy every moment.

Talking about beautiful energy, what an amazing evening we had last night at our monthly healing “boot camp” class. Our special guest, Kevin Roth shared his incredible story of being diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma cancer and how he turned his life around in 3 years to be cancer-free.

Kevin graced us with a live concert playing his Dulcimer. What a talent. We learned that Kevin played with Peter, Paul and Mary years ago and had stayed friends ever since. Unfortunately, Mary was diagnosed with Leukemia and Kevin told us she beat cancer and died of complications to the chemotherapy. How sad is that?

As the comments kept streaming in the chat box last night, I thought to myself, how amazing that this beautiful man who I met only 18 months ago has been able to turn his life around. I had some joyful moments last night hearing Kevin talk. Kevin was prepared to do the work; he got an attitude of gratitude and determination to change his life.

I’m so proud of you Kevin and the deep work you have done over the last 2 years to find your path to true healing. I know this not an easy road to travel on your own that is why I am here with Prue’s Place to help guide and support you all to stay on track.

A big Thank You to Kevin for sharing his story and talent with us last night and thank you to everyone who made the time to be with us. We will be doing more of these events in 2018 and inviting other guests to join us so stay tuned.

Who’s in control of your mind?

Within us lies, incredible power and intelligence that is always responding to our thoughts and words. As we learn to control our mind (the drunken monkey mind) by conscious choice of thinking, we align ourselves with this power.

Just relax will ya! Why should I relax?

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Just relax will ya!

We tense up and tighten up out of sheer habit during our day. We don’t even know we do it. Certain things make us automatically tense up our neck, shoulders and back and this produces shallow breathing, which creates tension. When we become mindful of our habits, we can relax more.

Learn to relax more during your day.

Find things to help you relax. Here are some of my favorites – Hot bath with Epsom salts, sauna, steam room, a massage, walking, meditating and my breathing techniques.

Dying To Be Healed Of Cancer – Malignant Melanoma

By | Uncategorized | One Comment

Dying to be healed of cancer – Malignant Melanoma.

I was dying to be healed. My name is Prudence “Prue” Sinclair, and my doctor told me I had 6 months to live.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 malignant melanoma and given only 6 months to live. That was 28 years ago. But instead of dying, I got educated.

Several surgeries later and given the option of chemotherapy, I decided to ditch traditional treatment and research the world for so-called “alternative medicine.” This was during the 80s, mind you. You couldn’t just hop on the Internet to find information; you had to hop on a plane… which is what I did.

Living With Cancer?

Living with cancer can be such a heavy burden to carry around with you day in day out. I remember that heavy sack only too well.

It was so hard to enjoy my life. All I wanted to do was sleep and cry. When I started researching at the local library and reading every book I could get my hands on about how to survive cancer naturally was when I realized I must create a healing strategy – a daily action plan to change my life.

Can words kill you like an overdose of opioids?

As I sit here on this lovely sunny, crisp New England Fall day sipping my hot cup of tea, I can’t help feeling so grateful for my life. Remember, when we feel and express gratitude we will never be fearful.

I have a couple of stories for you today. Sad, tragic personal stories that I hope will wake you up to the fact of how vitally important what you say to yourself and others affects your future life.
